Food and Beverage – Foods Associate

Job Description: Food and Beverage – Foods Associate

Reporting to the Food and Beverage Supervisor

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greets Lake George Expedition Park guests, takes and fills food and beverage orders, processes guest payments while following proper cash handling procedures.
  • Cooks and prepares food items following proper food handling and safety practices. Serves food in correct portions and sizes to ensure food cost goals are met.
  • Uses soda fountains to serve cold drinks, uses hot water heater or coffee maker to make and serve hot drinks.
  • Follows all, and ensures compliance to, New York State Department of Health guidelines. Ensures proper food safety practices are followed and product temperature controls are met and maintained.
  • Sweeps and cleans floors, wipes off and sanitizes counters, empties trash and completes other general cleaning duties.
  • Maintains proper stock levels for all serving, kitchen, dining and condiment areas. Alerts Food and Beverage Supervisor of any shortage of supplies.
  • Follows all food equipment guidelines, including adhering to age restrictions on the use of food service equipment and utensils. Ensures all safety equipment is being used properly alerts Food and Beverage Supervisor of any malfunctions, safety concerns, or needs.
  • Provides top level guest service.
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to Food and Beverage Supervisor.
  • Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods per Lake George Expedition Parks business needs.
  • Meets Lake George Expedition Park’s attendance requirements as outlined in LGEP’s attendance policies.

Retail – Gift Shop Associate

Job Description: Retail – Gift Shop Associate

Reporting to the Retail and Merchandise Supervisor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greets Lake George Expedition Park guests, processes gift shop purchases, takes guest payments while following proper cash handling procedures.
  • Use sales suggestion techniques to assist Lake George Expedition park guests find their perfect gift or souvenir to add a keepsake to remember their day.
  • Tell guest shoppers about accessories or additional items to increase per transaction sales.
  • Re-stock bins, shelves, fixtures, and displays full with the appropriate and newest merchandise.
  • Check in shipments of new merchandise.
  • Keep aisles, countertops, and displays clean, organized and safe.
  • Be on the alert for potential loss prevention issues, including theft of merchandise.
  • Provide top level guest service by being friendly, outgoing, and inviting guests to your cart, shop, or register.
  • Ability to work in an environment that is fast-paced.

Retail – Photographer

Job Description: Retail – Photographer

Reporting to the Retail and Merchandise Supervisor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greets Lake George Expedition Park guests, take souvenir guest photos which also includes photos available at Dino Roar Valley dinosaur locations (camera training provided).
  • Operate as a cashier for all photo purchase locations while following proper cash handling procedures.
  • Proactively greet and assist with directions and assistance while at your work location.
  • Speak positively about the souvenir photo products and make every effort to make each guest a sale.
  • Maintain a well-organized and clean work area and location. Lake George Expedition Park associates are expected to maintain cleanliness in the park and at your work location.
  • Provide top level guest service while using sales suggestion techniques to achieve department sales goals. Must be able to up sell and direct the guest to Photo Pick-Up.
  • Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods per Lake George Expedition Parks business needs.
  • Meets Lake George Expedition Park’s attendance requirements as outlined in LGEP’s attendance policies.

Operations – Ride Attendant

Job Description: Operations – Ride Attendant

Reporting to the Operations and Rides Supervisor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greets Lake George Expedition Park guests, while ensuring the safe operation of Lake George Expedition Park rides and attractions.
  • Ensures that they have been properly trained and certified to operate each ride they are assigned to operate.
  • Tests equipment daily before opening the ride to guests. Notifies the Operations and Rides Supervisor of any issue with the ride they are assigned to operate.
  • Enforces Lake George Expedition park ride policies, ride safety requirements, and ride restrictions and recommendations.
  • Restricts the number of guests on the loading platform to the number who can be seated on the ride.
  • Ensures safe operation of the ride. Makes certain that queue lines are safe, clean and orderly.
  • Assists with the loading and unloading of the ride to include small children and guests with disabilities.
  • Verifies that safety restraints and belts are correctly secured before the ride is set into motion.
  • Takes appropriate action to answer or resolve guest questions and complaints.
  • Measures children at height stations and issues appropriate wristbands.
  • Gives directions and delivers ride messages as required.
  • Provide top level guest service while working and interacting with guests and answering questions and giving directions.

Operations – Admission and Guest Relations Associate

Job Description: Operations – Admission and Guest Relations Associate

Reporting to the Operations and Rides Supervisor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greets Lake George Expedition Park guests, while processing admission and entrance into Dino Roar Valley, Magic Forest or all Lake George Expedition Park’s rides and attractions.
  • Use sales suggestion techniques to assist Lake George Expedition park guests to add VIP packages and extras to their daily ticket.
  • Processes guest payments while following proper cash handling procedures.
  • Tell guests about season passes, group rates, and two-park combination tickets.
  • Take and process season pass photos and information as required.
  • Answer and respond to all guest comments or concerns. Use the LEAD technique, LISTEN, EMPATHIZE, APOLOGIZE, and DIRECT.
  • Keep aisles, countertops, and ticket selling areas clean, organized and safe.
  • Be on the alert for potential loss prevention issues, including theft or use of invalid tickets.
  • Provide top level guest service in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure.
  • Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods per Lake George Expedition Parks business needs.

Job Description: Operations – Security and Guest Services Associate

Reporting to the Operations and Rides Supervisor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greets Lake George Expedition Park guests while ensuring the orderly entrance into and exiting of the park through the possible use of hand-held metal detection devices or walk-though devices.
  • Inspects guests, their packages and belongings for prohibited carry-in, or illegal items.
  • Explains detection and inspection procedures and standards for prohibited items to guests and employees.
  • Provide top level guest service when serving the guests or working with park associates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
  • Assist guests and employees, including lost and/or separated guests.
  • Assists with crowd control duties as needed.
  • Monitors, enforces, and reports violations of park rules, company policy and applicable local/state laws.
  • Completes all necessary written statements or reports as directed to document incidents and investigations.
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to Operations and Rides Supervisor.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely using direct conversation, a two-way radio and/or telephone.
  • Ability to successfully complete required Lake George Expedition Park training.
  • Ability to remain calm with guests or employees in emotionally charged or crisis situations and help to de-escalate those situations.
  • Ability to recognize when additional assistance or direction is required and to seek assistance or direction.

Maintenance – Rides Mechanic

Job Description: Maintenance – Rides Mechanic

Reporting to the Director of Operations and Maintenance

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and other required inspections of Lake George Expedition Park’s amusement rides and attractions within Magic Forest and Dino Roar Valley.
  • Ride and attraction inspections are accomplished through a visual inspection and listening as the ride is operated to identify any unusual condition. Corrective action is taken when an issue is identified.
  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance, inspects, repairs and tests amusement rides and attractions.
  • Repair or replace major components such as hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders, chains, sprockets, hoses, brakes, clutches, wheels, bearings, gears and gearboxes, springs, or other mechanical devices.
  • Properly follows all repair procedures and maintains accurate documentation of all repairs including ride manufacturers mandated or recommended ride updates.
  • Maintains orderly and accurate records of all required inspections and work performed and submits New York State Department of Labor and Lake George Expedition Park’s required paperwork to Director of Operations and Maintenance in a timely manner. 
  • Communicates the status of assigned rides and attractions both verbally and in written format to Director of Operations and Maintenance prior to opening a ride to Lake George Expedition Park guest use.
  • Maintains all assigned equipment in a safe and ready condition according to all applicable codes, laws, rules, company policies, and amusement industry best practices.
  • Works safely and efficiently on all assigned tasks, coordinating with others as necessary to achieve desired results.
  • Performs a variety of other tasks depending on experience as required.
  • Reads, understands and applies information from manufacturer’s manuals for service, repair and or component replacement. Accurately reads blue prints (mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic).
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with established guidelines and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to Director of Operations and Maintenance.

 

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • 2 to 4 years’ verifiable experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in an industrial or amusement setting.
  • Working knowledge of basic mechanical principles such as gear ratios, torque, proper use of common hand tools, common mechanical nomenclature, etc.
  • Familiarity with common types of bearings, bushings, couplers, shafting and similar power transmission components.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the fundamental principles of either pneumatic systems or hydraulic systems; preferably both.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others in a fast paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively while elevated on ladders, platforms, or other structures at heights up to 300 feet above ground.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.

Maintenance - Painter

Job Description: Maintenance - Painter

Reporting to the Director of Operations and Maintenance

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces by sanding, scraping, or other means to attain desired surface to apply paint, stain, clear finishes, or product specified to inside and outside surfaces of buildings, structures, rides, and other areas.
  • Utilize pre-coating agents, filling and leveling materials, and mix and match colors and textures.
  • Remove previous paint by means of sandblasting, scraping, sanding, hydro-blasting and steam-cleaning.
  • Inspect and refurbish wall surfaces by means of the appropriate materials.
  • Apply wood finishing by suitably preparing surface.
  • Determine, cut and apply wallpaper or fabric to walls as requested.
  • Operate and maintain high pressure low volume spray machines.
  • Operate and maintain spray machines.
  • Maintain records and logs of product used and time spent; submit finished work orders to supervisor.
  • Maintain logs of Volatile Organic Compound and spray volume.
  • Follow all established PPE procedures and company policies.
  • Check with management and work order system for daily assignments and priorities.
  • Check assigned areas and touch up all paint as needed on all buildings, structures, carts, and signs.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • 2 to 4 years’ verifiable experience in applying paint, stains, finishes and other products, preferably in an industrial or amusement setting.
  • Read blueprints, drawings, technical specifications and material data sheets in the successful completion of assigned painting task.
  • Ability to read color charts and mix paints with automated paint mixer.
  • Must be able to follow compound specifications for mixing of paints.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others in a fast paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively while elevated on ladders, platforms, or other structures above ground.

Maintenance – Electrical / Ride Control Associate

Job Description: Maintenance – Electrical / Ride Control Associate

Reporting to the Director of Operations and Maintenance

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains, modifies and performs upgrades to ride control systems, monitoring systems and park lighting fixtures as necessary. Makes recommendations based on operational needs and manufacturer requirements.
  • Oversees and participates in the installation, maintenance and repair of all Park’s electrical systems (to include ride device, building and site electrical infrastructure). Troubleshoots electrical problems and makes recommendations for repair. Research, order and maintain an adequate inventory of supplies and equipment necessary to ensure proper operation of ride systems.
  • Adjusts the daily work assignments of staff to account for equipment availability, project delivery timelines and staff abilities.
  • Coordinates with suppliers, contractors and other vendors regarding repair work ensuring compliance with work deadlines and compliance with company and regulatory guidelines and procedures.
  • Follows all lock-out, tag-out procedures that meet or exceed federal, state, and local guidelines.

 

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Three to five years of experience in electrical maintenance, controls, power distribution and automation.
  • Electrical field experience in controls including PLC’s, AC/DC drives, proximity switches, etc.
  • Experience with three phase medium voltage power systems.
  • Must have computer experience, Microsoft Office preferred.
  • A Journey or Master Electrician License is helpful.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others in a fast paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively while elevated on ladders, platforms, or other structures above ground.
